
Regular eye examinations should not only be a matter of course when correcting dioptric errors such as near-sightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism, but also when you do not experience any eye problems. Eye exams are important to healthy eyes at any age. At the same time, they can discover not only eye diseases, but also general diseases in good time.
When should you start the eye exams? The first eye examination should be completed as early as the sixth month of the child’s life, if there is a genetic predisposition on the part of the parents – dioptric errors, low vision or strabismus.
The next eye exam should be carried out as part of a pediatric examination when the child is three years old. It is also important to have an eye examination before going to school, i.e. between the ages of 6 and 7. And at kraff eye clinic you can have all the facilities regarding the same.
Regular check-up is utmost important
You should see an ophthalmologist with your child even if their grades get worse. It can also mean that it cannot see the board well.
In the following, ophthalmologists recommend undergoing preventive eye examinations every two years. If you begin to experience vision problems in adulthood, don’t wait for improvement. Symptoms that you should make an appointment with your ophthalmologist as soon as possible include: headache, reduced visual acuity near or far, blurred or double vision, sensation of pressure, burning eyes, dilated eye vessels, or having dryness in your eyes feel.
As you get older, especially after the age of 45, it is recommended that you have regular eye exams, during which you should also undergo intraocular pressure measurements. If you have a more serious eye disease in your family, you should have regular eye exams from the age of 20.
With an eye examination, the ophthalmologist can identify visual problems in good time, such as cataracts or glaucoma, macular degeneration, but also other more serious diseases such as high blood pressure, incipient diabetes or other metabolic disorders, but can also detect tumors.
